With news reaching us in our international media, we are learning that the new interim military council standing in for the soon-to-be-elected new parliament is proceeding with judicial action against those who have abused their positions of power.
Mohammed Hosni Mubarak and his two sons, Gamal and Alaa, have all been detained, assets seized, and join other ex-Mubarak regime personnel in Cairo’s Turah Jail. Mubarak himself is detained in a hospital in Sharm El Sheikh until passed fit for travel. Now his wife is also under detention. (more).
Habib al-Adly, Egypt’s former Interior Minister, has been sentenced to 12 years in jail for money laundering and profiteering (more). His on-going other case regarding violence towards the protesters has been temporarily adjourned for more time (more).
Farouk Hosni, Minister of Culture, has been dismissed and Zahi Hawass resigned over the looting, (but has been reinstated ?) (more).
